Few things are more satisfying than finishing something you’ve worked hard on for a long time. In the case of The Next Bench redesign, there is a whole team of talented – and tired – people who are probably feeling something similar right now.
We tackled the project because people like you continue to come here to read up on the latest from HP and chat with us. Your feedback was the motivation for the redesign. You told us what you wanted and we’ve done our best to make it happen.
But before you give it a test drive, let me say that we consider this the first step in an ongoing improvement process. We want to make it as perfect as possible, and we need your input on everything from the site design to the stories we share.
So, check it out and let us know what you think. We hope you’ll notice the following changes right away.
Goodbye menus, hello stories
You said it was difficult to navigate to blog content, so we stripped out the complicated menus and simplified the architecture. Now the site immediately serves up our latest blogs when you visit. The box at the top of the page spotlights our feature posts. And, we added a tag cloud and video gallery to give you other ways to find the stuff that interests you.
Reader meet HP, HP meet reader
We added features – the contributors’ page and the roll-over author bios on each post – to make it easier for you to get to know and connect with our bloggers. And then we added more bloggers. Over the course of the next couple of weeks, we’ll be working hard to give you more into what’s going on at HP. We encourage you to comment on the posts or hit our bloggers up on Twitter.
Beyond The Next Bench
HP is a big company doing a ton of interesting things. We thought it would be cool to give you a map to other places you can find us online. The “All Channels” page helps you find everything from our official YouTube channels to our news room and support forums.
Happy exploring. Leave comments or connect with me on Twitter (@MarkatHP) to let me know what you think.
