Commercial Break: Hardcore HP Employees

During the a time of power mullets, power ties and The Go-Gos, HP put together a number of classic time capsule commercials to show exactly how hardcore HP employees were way back when. Not that we don’t sleep with a TouchPad on the nightstand or have a cell phone at-the-ready to Tweet at any given moment these days…it’s just nice to see how people got it done almost 30 years ago (yeesh, 30 years!?!). If you’re ready for some flashbacks to kick in, keep reading through and click the links!

Unfortunately, I’m unable to embed these videos, so you’ll have to check through to see each of these over at retrojunk.com, but here’s the breakdown.

In this first ad, we see a dedicated worker kicking back in office cube when BAM the moment of genius hits her. Nobody answering the phone? No problem! She runs across campus and deftly dodges floor scrubbing power brooms like she’s in the NFL! Check the video at retrojunk.com.

Now this second commercial proves that apparently not all HP employees sing in the shower. And that work can sometimes be “shirts-optional.” Need proof? The retrojunk.com video link is here.

(Thanks to Bryna, over on HP’s Facebook Page, who stumbled over these commercials.)
