The Next Bench Story

Ch-ch-ch-changes in store for The Next Bench

I’ve had the pleasure of working behind the scenes on The Next Bench since the Voodoo team at HP launched it in 2008. Since then, it's grown from a small community into one of HP’s most trafficked online destinations and I couldn't be prouder of everything we've done. But very soon, this site is going to get a whole lot cooler. Let me tell you about what's changing.

We have heard from several people that the current design of The Next Bench is difficult to navigate. Visitors to the site want the ability to quickly access content, without having to figure out complicated menus. Our soon-to-launch redesigned version should solve that problem.

Over the next 24 hours, you will see The Next Bench transform into a news blog format. Instead of the current landing page, you’ll have direct access to the latest blog posts and multi-media content. You will also notice some changes that make it easier to find featured content, learn about our bloggers and find other HP social media channels.

With the launch of the new design, we also will put more focus into content development. You’ll hear more from our current bloggers, including Voodoo founder Rahul Sood and meet other HP voices that will bring a new dimension to your experience on the site.

We want to thank all of you have visited and participated in The Next Bench so far. And I have to give special thanks to the Voodoo fans who were there with us from the very beginning. Although we’ve had to relocate the Voodoo forums (they are now here and here), the Voodoo fans are still the cornerstone of our community and we look forward to continuing chatting with you all.

As we continue to grow, let us know the things you want to see in the comments below. Connect with me on Twitter (@MarkatHP) and say hello – I look forward to hearing from you!

Greetings Mark,

I'm a very happy HP product user, who has been following the HP face recognition flap, and also engaged in launching a new social media website. Digital Diaspora Family Reunion: One World, One Family (DDFR.tv), is a unique multimedia engagement initiative aimed at expanding our understanding of African American and African Diasporic history and culture by uncovering the hidden stories and images which reside in institutional and family photographic archives. DDFR consists of a traveling off-line ROADSHOW and the www.DDFR.TV online web portal which target a dynamic, motivated, family-oriented user demographic. DDFR has received support from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, National Endowment for the Arts, Ford Foundation, Andy Warhol Foundation, Nathan Cummings Foundation and National Black Programming Coalition, among others.

Would HP be interested in a platform that showcases the integration of its computers, photo printers, scanners, Palm and storage devices? Check out our site and let me know.

Thanks bcamozzi!

Don2perry - your site sounds interesting. I'll ask the team here to take a closer look at it.
